KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED IN WINTERS

KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED IN WINTERS

In today's present scenario it has become really important for each one of us to maintain a good health. With so much of pollution in the environment, food adulteration, untimely working hours and unhealthy lifestyle it has become mandatory for everyone to look after his /her own health. That's why the Dinacharya is to be followed in accordance with the present context. Drinking a glass of Luke-warm water helps to flush out all toxins accumulated overnight in the body. Winter can also accelerate dehydration because we have a survival mechanism that constricts blood vessels in cold weather, to conserve heat and maintain body temperature. Blood vessels shrinking increases blood pressure.  To lower the pressure, your kidneys make more urine, meaning less blood to fill veins and arteries, more frequent trips to the bathroom and greater risk of dehydration.

It’s a common myth that our body doesn’t needs a lot of water in winters or we don’t feel much thirsty in winters and so everybody drinks less water and fluids in winters. Winter dehydration can cause exhaustion, muscle fatigue, cramps, loss of coordination and even a stroke. When dehydrated, you can also become more susceptible to winter colds and flu.

But have you all noticed dryness in winters, I think YES, everybody has dryness in winters .Buy have we thought Why is this dryness……….So the answer is this that this is due to low water intake and fall in temperature. So we cannot control temperature, maybe we can stay in warm rooms but it’s not that so much practical so we go to the second option which is drinking enough water.

According to Ayurveda, in winters our body has the maximum strength or the maximum digestive capacity inside and that’s why it is commonly said that we should eat good and more nutritious in winters. What happens is this that , if we do fasting or eat less and light meals or precisely speaking drink less water than the aggravated AGNI or the digestive fire, which is light in nature and goes up or flows up which in turn starts burning the Dhatus or the tissues. Understandingly, if we don’t put good Fuel or we don’t diminish this aggravated FIRE with water then it start eating, burning or destroying the Body tissues which leads to fatigue , and immune suppression in body.

This high fire burns the tissues and makes you more susceptible for diseases. The dryness which we feel on our body in winters is nothing but a indication from that body that our Dhatus(Tissues) are getting burned inside.

Winters are the best time to eat and nutritious our body so the message is:
·         Eat Healthy
·         Eat as per Your AGNI
·         Drink Enough Water
·         Enjoy Ayurveda Rasayanas.

Wish you all a healthy and Immunity Boosting Winters!!!
