Ayurvedic Herbs to Fight with Dengue

Dengue is an infectious disease caused by Dengue viruses which are transmitted to humans through mosquitoes.
Dengue fever usually causes fever (high, about 104 F-105 F), skin rash, and pain (headaches and often severe muscle and joint pains). The disease has also been termed "break bone fever" or "dandy fever" because the unusually severe muscle and joint pains can make people assume distorted body positions or exaggerated walking movements in an effort to reduce their pain. The platelet levels falls extremely in this disease which may lead to uncontrolled bleeding?

Chirayta
Chirayta is an effective drug for reducing fever, particularly malaria and dengue. It is excellent for strengthening the digestive system and is also used in treating stomach ailments like dyspepsia and diarrhea. It also helps in destroying intestinal worms.
Giloya
Tinospora Codifolia (Giloya or Amrita), is another anti-inflammatory and antipyretic herb, commonly used as Ayurvedic Rasayanas since ages. It is very helpful in building up of the immune system and body’s defense against infecting organisms. It helps in improving the killing ability of macro-phages, responsible for fighting foreign bodies and micro-organisms.

Papaya
A decoction made from fresh leaves of papaya is used for increasing blood platelet counts in body. Using papaya leaves regularly for Dengue patients is very crucial for life saving. They have natural enzymes which normalize platelet count and improves clotting of blood .It is also helpful in improving liver functioning and immunity.

Methi (Fenugreek)
Methi leaves help in controlling and balancing pain during Dengue fever. It also helps in balancing blood pressure which quite often is induced in Dengue fever. The methodology is to soak leaves in water and boil it further for consuming it as a decoction. It reduces fever and increases anti inflammatory actions in body.

Neem (Azadiracta Indica)
Neem leaves are of great benefits in increasing the immunity and to work as anti inflammatory, anti pyretic and analgesic for dengue patients. A decoction made with boiling neem leaves for 5 minutes should be taken twice daily as warm drink.

Punarnava
Punarnava is used to bring down temperatures. It produces plenty of perspiration which flushes the toxins and brings the fever down.

Tulsi

Boiled tulsi that is basil leaves served in a warm drink like tea can help prevent an outbreak of dengue. This bitter and pungent herb has all the properties that strengthen the internal system against fever.
